If you do not love Egyptology and/or Ancient Rome, this would be a very difficult book to read, let alone finish. While Cleopatra is widely believed to have died by suicide, the details vary between historians. This is a biography of Cleopatra VII so I was disappointed to find that this book focused more on the events and people surrounding Cleopatra VII instead of being mainly focused on Cleopatra VII herself.
